Animal traps, fur stretchers set for auction stolen from Hartland barn

The owners of a barn on Ridge Road reported several items were taken overnight Saturday that were to be put up for auction on Oct. 26.

The owners told sheriff's deputies that someone entered the barn through a man door and took more than 600 animal traps which were bundled in groups of 10, about 100 fur stretchers and various trapping supplies. An undetermined amount of power tools and six coolers were also taken.

An inventory of remaining items is being taken. The sheriff's office crime scene unit responded to process the scene.
