• CHARGED: Eric J. McLeod, 32, 309 75th St., Niagara Falls, was charged with DWI, driving without inspection and a traffic violation about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff's office. McLeod was stopped on Cayuga Drive Extension, appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. A Breathalyzer test determined his blood alcohol content to be 0.09 percent.
• BURGLARY: A River Road man reported to sheriff's deputies on Monday that someone has been breaking into his house and moving items around and his mail has been taken and returned. The man told deputies he thinks it's drug dealers from a nearby trailer park.
• DWI: Scott T. Carr, 53, 5972 Elmwood Place, Newfane, was charged Sunday with DWI. Niagara County Sheriff's deputies said they were following Carr on Lake Street when he turned onto Young Street, driving on the shoulder then crossing the median. When Carr went over the median he reportedly swerved back on the road so quickly he crossed over the shoulder again and almost went off the road. Carr swerved again and crossed the center median once more. A deputy said Carr had glassy eyes and slurred speech, which was noticed before Carr went on to fail multiple field sobriety tests. At the time of the last failed test, Carr reportedly said "Just arrest me... I'm drunk." His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.18 percent.
• VANDALISM: A Maple Road resident reported to sheriff's deputies on Sunday that sometime the night before, someone threw walnuts at his garage, causing damage. The report said multiple golf ball-sized walnuts were thrown and one of them broke a window. A deputy spoke with the residents on which the walnut trees were located but did not get info on possible suspects. The estimated damage is $100.
