Suspicious man, stolen ATV investigated

Niagara Gazette — Niagara County Sheriff's investigators took a man in for questioning Wednesday after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Academy Street.

Deputies responding to the call found an unoccupied white cube van on the street and while they were checking it out a man walked out of some nearby woods and claimed ownership of the van.

The man gave different accounts of why he was in the area. Deputies checked the area of the woods he had walked from and found an ATV parked there.

While investigating the matter, deputies spoke with a woman on Ransomville Road and it was determined the ATV had been taken from that property. She added that a dirt bike had been taken from the property two weeks ago.

The man was taken to the sheriff's office voluntarily for further questioning.
