BLOTTER: Police reports published Oct. 17

Niagara Falls

• ROBBERY: Police are investigating a robbery in the area of Whirlpool Street and Cedar Avenue. A 24-year-old man told officers he was walking in the area at just after midnight Wednesday, when he was attacked by two male suspects. The victim said the suspects hit him with an unknown metal object and knocked him to the ground. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and ran from the area.

• INCIDENT: Officers are looking into a menacing incident in the 700 block of Cedar Avenue. A cab driver told police he was waiting for a fare at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, when a male suspect approached him and pulled out a black handgun. The victim said the suspect pointed the handgun at him and said, “Give me all your money.” The suspect then put the gun back in the waistband of his pants and told the cabbie, “Just kidding.” The victim said the suspect then went into a nearby apartment building.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a truck break-in in the 200 block of 83rd Street. A 29-year-old man told officers that sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, someone broke into his 1997 Ford F-150 by unknown means. The victim said a bow and three arrows were taken.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested on DWI and other charges after a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Niagara Avenue at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday. Angel F. Carabello, 46, 1619 Cleveland Ave., was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, improper turn, improper pass and unsafe lane change.
