Fisherman reports encounter at Burt Dam

A 21-year-old Lockport man reported to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies Monday night that he was fishing at Burt Dam about 7:15 p.m. Sunday when he was approached by four Middle Eastern men.

He reported the men had one fishing pole with no hook and no other fishing equipment. The Lockport man said one of the men in the group was asking him if there were any turbines at the dam, where they were located and how far from the lake they were.

The Lockport man told deputies he did not give them any information before leaving.
