Former Lockport resident found stabbed

A former Lockport resident was found dead in her Lackawanna apartment Sunday afternoon.

Police said Tequila Suter, 26, a 2006 graduate of Lockport High School, was stabbed to death Saturday evening.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

Friends of Suter's said they had no idea who would have killed her. Suter was finishing her master's degree and held two jobs in social work fields.

TONAWANDA

Police looking for accident witnesses

Town of Tonawanda police are asking for assistance with an investigation into a serious injury accident that occurred at the River Road exit of the I-190 north Tuesday night.

The collision involved a van and a pickup truck, police spokesman Capt. Joseph Carosi said in a statement.

"The two vehicles collided, resulting in one person being taken to the Erie County Medical Center with serious physical injuries," the statement reads.

The victim is in stable condition at the hospital. The names of the drivers involved in the accident are not being released. 

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed, but authorities said drugs or alcohol were not involved.

Police are looking for witnesses of the accident. Those who saw the collision take place can call the police Accident Investigation Unit at 879-6613. 

 

Niagara Falls

• THEFT: A Michigan Avenue resident reported a car in their driveway was entered and took several items overnight Monday. A cooler, winning lottery tickets, several gift cards and $40 in food were among the items taken. There was no sign of forced entry.

• INCIDENT: Falls police were called to a 1st Street hotel where staff reported a recently fired employee had purposely damaged work clothes before returning them. Hotel staff said the woman was fired on Monday and on Tuesday dropped off a bag with "It was nice nowing ya" written on it in black marker. Inside the bag were three pairs of pants and two shirts which were torn and cut into pieces. The estimated loss is $150.

City of Lockport

• CHARGED: Elizabeth Sherman, 16, 4245 Ide Road, Wilson, was charged Wednesday with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree possession of a weapon, relating to a Nov. 12 incident.

Town of Wilson:

• FIRE: A fire broke out in the furnace of an Ide Road family's home on Wednesday morning around 5:40 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said. The fire started in a furnace in the basement of the home, which had been acting funny for a week, the homeowner said. The fire was extinguished by the homeowner with a fire extinguisher. The Wilson Fire Company responded to the scene to make sure the fire was out. According to the sheriff's office, damage was limited to the furnace and no injuries were reported.
