NT men caught with marijuana
Two North Tonawanda men are facing marijuana possession charges after a traffic stop in Pendleton over the weekend.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said Matthew G. Myers, 20, 112 East Felton St., and Luke K. Zacher, 20, 183 Rumbold Ave., were charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana.
A Niagara County Sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Tonawanda Creek Road. While speaking with the driver and passenger, the deputy detected a marijuana odor emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a container with marijuana.
• POSSESSION: Dustin T. Peace, 24, 23 Evans St., Lockport, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell and vehicle-and-traffic violations at 5:35 p.m. Saturday. Peace reportedly was seen driving recklessly and was pulled over in the 5200 block of Lockport Road. A search of the vehicle by a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy yielded pills and a white rock-like substance that field-tested positive as cocaine. Its value was estimated to be $1,200.
City of Tonawanda
• DWI: Gregory L. Shaffer, 31, Raymond Street, North Tonawanda, charged at 1:28 a.m. Sunday with DWI and driving with no inspection. Police said Shaffer rear-ended another vehicle while waiting in a drive-through line at McDonalds. He refused a breathalyzer test and was held for court.
• DWI: Andrew T. Bush, 24, Dodge Road, Amherst, was charged at 3:53 a.m. Saturday on Delton Street with with DWI, unsafe lane change and improper term. Police said he was pulled over and found with an open bottle of Scotch in his vehicle. His blood alcohol content was 0.21 and he was held for court.
