Father's stolen sports cards lead to charges for son in Lockport

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to Shunpike Road in Lockport on Sunday where a resident told them his son took six packs of unopened 1990s sports cards to trade for heroin.

Apparently before the deputy arrived, the father said he talked with his son and the son agreed to go to a local hospital for drug treatment and he did not want to press charges. The deputy noted that both father and son got into a car and headed off to Newfane.

About two hours later, the deputy received a call from the father who reported his son got into another vehicle and fled the area as soon as they got to the hospital. He now wanted to press charges for the theft of $20 in sports cards.
