Woman charged after Youngstown accident

Responding a report of someone screaming for help in the area of Creek and Balmer roads about 2:30 a.m. Friday, emergency personnel found a woman trapped in a car after an accident.

The woman, Sherry L. Krantz, 41, 850 Oneida St., Lewiston, was extracted from the car by firefighters from the Youngstown Fire Co. She was taken to the Lewsiton-Porter school campus where she was picked up by Mercy Flight for transport to Erie County Medical Center for unnamed injuries.

Deputies said a computer check showed her driver's license was suspended for failure to pay driver responsibility assessment fees in October of 2012; a traffic offense and DWI charge in October of 2012 that occurred during the conditional/restricted license program; a refusal to submit to a chemical test in July of 2012; and failure to pay a fine in December of 2011.

Krantz was also required to drive a vehicle with an interlock device and the car involved in Friday's accident did not have one.

Krantz was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving without an interlock device.
