BLOTTER: Police reports published Dec. 27

• THEFT: About $550 in tools were stolen from a work van parked on the 300 block of Military Road overnight Tuesday. A passenger-side door lock was forced open to gain entry.

• THEFT: Several tools were taken Monday night from van parked in front of a D Street address. A suspect broke into the van, belonging to a local contractor, and took $2,344 in company tools, including a hammer drill and bandsaw.

• THEFT: A resident on the 2900 block of Michigan Avenue reported that sometime Tuesday night someone entered their apparently unlocked vehicle and took a $180 GPS unit.
