NIAGARA FALLS

Car break-in suspects caught on camera

Falls police investigating the use of credit cards stolen from a vehicle were able to obtain images of the suspects from local stores.

A resident on the 1200 block of 95th Street told police that someone Monday night someone entered their unlocked car and took credit and debit cards, as well as a driver's license.

A check of the cards showed they had been used at a local department store and grocery store. Purchases were made in the amounts: $200, $293.91, $200 and $91.

Police went to both stores and have obtained surveillance footage of the suspects making the purchases as well as leaving the store and getting into a car.

An investigation is continuing.

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Falls police were called to Devlin Avenue home on Tuesday where racial taunts were spray-painted on a garage door and the side of an SUV in gold paint. All the windows and the rear of the vehicle were also spray painted. The victim gave police the name of a potential suspect they have been having problems with. The victim added that they have received racial letters in the mail recently and have filed past police reports.

• BURGLARY: A resident on the 2700 block of Forest Avenue reported $4,000 in items, including a laptop, jewelry and watches were taken from the home between 2 and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

• BURGLARY: Falls police were called to a residence on the 3200 block of North Avenue Wednesday for a burglary report. A resident said sometime between Dec. 18 and Tuesdays someone entered a shed at the rear of the residence and took a snowblower, generator, a cut-off saw and a welding box. The estimated loss is $5,500.

• THEFT: A car parked on the 2700 block of Whitney Avenue was broken into between Friday and Monday and a $500 stereo and $200 headrest monitors were taken.
