BLOTTER: Police reports published July 10

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls teen was arrested on drug and related charges after a traffic stop in the 900 bock of Pine Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. Joshua David Cessna-Carter, 17, 1122 North Ave., was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree promoting prison contraband. Officers responded to a report of a man selling drugs from a car. When they arrived, officers found Cessna-Carter in a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle being used to sell drugs. As the officers approached the car, they saw a baggie containing marijuana, lying on a door handle. A further search of the car, turned up a large sandwich bag containing marijuana and a digital scale. At the city jail, officers found additional marijuana in Cessna-Carter’s buttocks. Police said a total of 25.4 grams of pot was seized from Cessna-Carter.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he was caught with a stolen semi-automatic handgun. Antione Rashawn Harrell, 26, 14 D-E Jordan Gardens, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Officers on routine patrol said they saw Harrell acting suspiciously in the high-crime area of 18th Street and Niagara Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Sunday. When officers tried to stop Harrell, he ran from them and led them on a chase into the 1800 block of Niagara Avenue. Officers saw Harrell tossing items under some bushes and recovered a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun in a black holster. Harrell told the officers he had recently bought the gun on the streets. A records check showed the gun and holster had been reported stolen.

• DUMPING: Officers are looking into illegal dumping in the 600 block of 18th Street. A block club member told police that sometime between 9 a.m. July 1 and  9 a.m. Sunday someone dumped roof shingles behind a building in that area.
