Olcott dog owner facing another charge over pit bull

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to West Main Street on Wednesday afternoon for a report of a pit bull attacking a small dog.

The small dog's owner said her dog was attacked by the pit bull while it was on a leash in the front yard of her residence. The woman said it's the third time the pit bull has attacked her dog and she's afraid it's going to kill her dog or attack children in the neighborhood.

Deputies contacted the dog warden who told them he was very familiar with the pit bull. He said the dog's owner is currently in court for a similar issue.

Deputies located the owner, Willie R. Bogar, 41, 1010 Ontario St., Niagara Falls, who told deputies he wasn't there when the dog ran out of the house. He was reminded by deputies that he's responsible for the dog at all times.

He was issued an appearance ticket for having a dog at large.
