BLOTTER: Police reports published June 26

Niagara Falls
• INCIDENT: Police did not charge a Falls man after an incident in City Court on Tuesday that required officers to use minimal force in controlling the suspect. Officers reported that the 32-year-old man became angry and aggressive during his arraignment on criminal charges and began swearing at the judge and court officers. The man also refused to cooperate with directions from the judge. As the man was being returned to a jail cell, he become aggressive with officers and had to be briefly restrained. Neither the man nor officers were injured in the incident. Officers said because the man appeared to have mental and emotion issues they decided not to charge him.

 
• ARREST: Two Falls men were arrested after they attacked another man in the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue at 4:55 p.m. Sunday. Kevin David Sandy, 28, 1308 South Ave., Apt. 7, and Mark Williams Sr., 52, 445 1/2 Elmwood Ave., were each charged with third-degree assault and third-degree menacing. A 34-year-old man told police that Sandy, Williams and several other men were threatening his wife and daughter and that when he intervened, Sandy, Williams and the others began to punch him. 

 
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested on drunken driving and other charges after a traffic stop in the 500 block of 22nd Street at 8 p.m. Sunday. Aaron Potter, 30, 1103 Linwood Ave., Apt. 5, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, failure to take a breath test, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driver, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to obey a traffic control device, no insurance and no inspection.

 
• THEFT: Police are investigating a theft from the 400 block of Main Street. A 27-year-old man old officers that sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday someone took a Cannon camera from his hotel room. It’s not known how someone entered the victim’s room.
  
City of Tonawanda
• WARRANT: Phillip Bayley, 37, of Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for first-degree criminal contempt. He was held for court.
