Cancer donation jar stolen from Newfane business

A McKee Street pizzeria reported to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office that an unknown person removed a cancer donation jar from the counter at the restaurant at about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday.

The person was caught on video taking the jar, and was wearing an older version of a sweatshirt that the pizzeria gave to employees. Deputies canvassed the area, but were unable to find the person.

The jar had approximately $15 in it, a supervisor at the pizzeria said. The video is available and the investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff's Office said.
