Falls police make arrest in shooting

Falls Police Criminal Investigation Division detectives have arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection with a shooting in the 1500 block of Whitney Avenue on Jan. 15.

Investigators charged Joshua David Carter, 17, 1122 North Ave., with second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said they found a 22-year-old man lying face down, with a gunshot wound to his buttocks. The victim told officers he had been walking east on Whitney Avenue, at around 9:07 p.m., when a man ran up from behind him and shot him.
