Caller dies of heart attack after reporting another man's death in Cambria

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies called to a Fair Court West home Saturday for an unattended death ended up treating the person who called in the death. He later died of an apparent heart attack.

When a deputy arrived about 1:45 p.m. he saw a woman standing in front of the home pointing at it. When the deputy asked if it was the address of the deceased, she replied, " I don't know if he's dead. He was moving a few minutes ago."

The deputy said he then noticed a 54-year-old man laying on the ground, unresponsive. The deputy was unable to detect a pulse and attached his AED device, which advised a shock. The deputy delivered the shock and began CPR until ambulance crews arrived and transported him Mount St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Upon investigating the circumstances around the 54-year-old man, deputies found the body of a second man inside a nearby home. Details on the second man were unavailable on Sunday.

Neither death is considered suspicious, sheriff's officials said Sunday night.
