Sheriff's office investigating one-car fatal crash in Hartland Tuesday night

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal car accident that occurred about 8 p.m. in front of 8549 Ridge Road in Hartland.

An initial investigation shows the vehicle was traveling east on Ridge Road when it left the roadway, went on to the south shoulder of the road and struck a tree in front of the home before coming to a rest.

The driver of the vehicle as taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport where they were pronounced dead.

An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit.

The name of the driver is being withheld pending the notification of family members.
