Youngstown doctor sentenced in fraud case

Daniel Gillick, 63, of Youngstown has been ordered to surrender his medical license and will serve six months of home detention for scheming with his girlfriend to illegally obtain prescription pills.

In July, the former ER doctor admitted while working at Schuyler Hospital in September 2011, his girlfriend came in and faked a medical condition that would allow Gillick to write a prescription for Dilauded, a controlled substance.

Gillick pleaded guilty to fraud and health care fraud, which carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Gillick's girlfriend, Christine Guilfoyle, was sentenced in November to time served, according to Channel 4 News.
