Lockport man gets unexpected delivery — hollow-point bullets

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to Lock Haven Drive address after a resident there found more than he expected in a box delivered Friday.

The man said he ordered a chair over the Internet and the large box was dropped off at his home. Inside the shipping box was a second, smaller box. Believing it to be parts, the man opened it and found 500 rounds of .45-caliber hollow-point bullets.

The man examined the box a bit more closely and discovered it was actually addressed to a Niagara Falls man.

The sheriff's office contacted the ATF and an investigation into how the $200 in ammo was shipped across state lines is being investigated. The bullets were taken by the sheriff's office in the meantime.
