BLOTTER: Police reports published Aug. 2

Niagara Falls
• ASSAULT: Officers are looking into an assault in the area of Walnut Avenue and Fourth Street. A 21-year-old man told police he was walking in the area at 4:43 p.m. Sunday when a man “sucker punched” him while he was talking on his cell phone. 

 
• ROBBERY: Police are investigating a robbery in the 1800 block of Ferry Avenue. A 33-year-old man told officers he was getting out of his 2011 Chevy Colorado pickup truck, at 3:15 a.m. Monday, when a man approached him and asked for a cigarette. The victim said when he turned to get a cigarette, the suspect hit him in the back of the head and he fell to the ground. After getting up from the ground, the victim told officers he “saw the tail lights to his vehicle heading east down Ferry Avenue.” 

 
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 600 block of Pine Avenue. A property manager told police that sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday someone entered an office building by breaking two side windows. The burglars entered an empty office but nothing appeared to be missing.

 
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 1600 block of Pine Avenue. A 31-year-old man told officers that sometime between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 10:14 a.m. Wednesday someone broke into his business by forcing open a series of rear doors. The victim said $8,000 worth of e-cigarettes, an iPad, a 42-inch TV, a BluRay DVD player, two desktop computers and a safe were taken.

 
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 600 block of Ferry Avenue. A 29-year-old woman told police that sometime between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday someone broke into a home she was house sitting by breaking a side window. The housesitter said 70-inch TV, a PlayStation 3 game system, an Xbox game system, 30 video games and a surround-sound system were taken.
