BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 6


THEFT: Officers are investigating a reported string of thefts from vehicles in the vicinity of the 200 block of 68th Street which occurred in the overnight hours between Friday and Saturday. Police report five vehicle break-ins, including a theft of an iPod Touch and a global positioning system from one vehicle and a Niagara Falls Fire Department hat and badge from another. The victims reported their vehicles had been secured prior to the thefts.

ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested following a shoplifting incident at 7 p.m. Friday at a grocery store in the 7200 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Elyse Bresko, 21, 1345 Caravelle Drive, was charged with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief after the store manager witnessed her put eight frozen steaks and a package of Dunkin Donuts coffee inside her jacket and leave the store without paying. The store manager said the steaks were unsellable because they'd been put in her jacket. The total of the property was estimated at $122.
