Falls man caught speeding nearly 100 mph in stolen car

A Falls man was arrested by New York State Police in Cortland after he was spotted driving 100 mph in Cortland in what turned out to be a stolen car.

A state trooper said the incident occurred on Friday on Interstate 81, near exit 10.

Once stopped, it was determined that Ronald E. Proctor, 55, of Niagara Falls, was driving a stolen vehicle from Delaware with no driver's license. He was charged with a felony count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Troopers also noted that he is wanted by Falls police on a warrant for second-degree aggravated harassment.
