BLOTTER: Police reports published Dec. 30

• ARRESTS: A pair of Town of Niagara residents were arrested following a reported theft between 6:20 and 6:45 p.m. Friday from a store in the 1500 block of Military Road. Jessica Burling, 20, 5985 Miller Road, was charged with petit larceny, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a substance outside its original container, while her reported boyfriend, Brandon Belviso, 21, same address, was charged with petit larceny, after a store employee said he witnessed the pair leave the store without paying for items in their possession. Police were shown video evidence by the employee, according to reports, and a search began for the vehicle the pair were seen driving. Town of Niagara police report stopping the vehicle on Military Road north of the Porter Road. The two were taken into custody and positively identified by the store employee. In addition, a number of round, yellow pills were located in a container attached to Burling's keychain. She allegedly told police, "Those are Clonazepam. There's six or eight of them. I know they're illegal." Police said a test confirmed the controlled substance.


• DWI: Brad E. Koker, 41, 5695 Keck Road, was charged with DWI, speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Koker was stopped after failing to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Akron Road and Lincoln Avenue and then speeding 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Lincoln Avenue Ext. A deputy said Koker appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. He refused a breath test.
