Falls brothers attacked, stabbed
Niagara Falls police are investigating an assault and stabbing in the alley between Third and Fourth streets on Monday.
Two brothers told police they were almost struck by a Chevy Trailblazer while driving on Niagara Street and pulled into the alley.
The Trailblazer's driver followed them into the alley, got out of his truck and approached the brothers with a knife.
The man tried to stab one of the brothers but was unsuccessful, instead hitting over the head with a small rod. The other brother was stabbed in his right buttocks.
The victims said there was a woman in the car that kept yelling for the man to stop and kids as well. The victims said they could hear them crying.
The attacker ran off through yards after the incident. Police are investigating.
• ROBBERY: A 39-year-old Falls woman told police that he was assaulted and robbed about 11 a.m. Monday near the corner of 13th Street and Willow Avenue. The woman said a short man in a black ski mask approached her, punched her in the side of the head and demanded money. The man grabbed her purse and took a $50 bill when she refused to hand over money.
• THEFT: The owner of a vacant property on Monteagle Street reported to Falls police that sometime between Friday and Sunday someone broke in and took $200 in copper piping from the basement.
• THEFT: Falls police took a report of copper plumbing and a hot water tank stolen from a home on the 2400 block of Cleveland Avenue. The theft, from the vacant property occurred between Dec. 16 and Friday. The estimated loss is $8,000.
