Driver killed in Lockport bypass collision

One person was killed just after noon today after a crash on the Lockport Bypass, just north of Robinson Road.
A small pickup crossed the center median and hit a dump truck, then immediately burst into flames, State Police Public Information Officer Trooper Victor Morales said.

Authorities are withholding the driver's name until the family is contacted.

The dump truck driver was not injured, Morales said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the Lockport Bypass may be closed between Robinson Road and State Street until 4 p.m. for accident investigation, according to Morales.
