BLOTTER: Police reports published Oct. 27


• ARREST: A Falls youth was arrested following a reported fight at 6:10 p.m. Friday at a restaurant in the 2700 block of Niagara Street. Demario Thomas, 16, 1876 South Ave., was charged with second-degree assault with a weapon after several witnesses said he hit a man with a white plastic chair in front of the restaurant during an altercation. Police apprehended him and another suspect in the 3000 block of Falls Avenue and transporting him to the scene, where three of four witnesses, including the victim, identified him as the person responsible for the injuries. The witnesses said a large group of people arrived at the restaurant looking to fight a member of their party. In trying to break up the fight, a man was hit in the head by a chair, while another was hit and cut in the back of the head by an unknown object. The mother of the arrested individual was notified about the arrest according to police reports.



• DWI: Brian M. Clancy, 49, 141 Robert Drive, North Tonawanda, was charged with DWI, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving without insurance about 8:45 a.m. Friday, according to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies. A deputy scanning license plates in the area of Ward Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard was notified Clancy's vehicle was suspended for insurance not in effect as he drove by. Once stopped, Clancy appeared intoxicated and failed two of five field sobriety tests. He also gave a positive reading on an AlcoSensor test. He refused to take a breath test after being taken into custody.
