Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were contacted by the owner of an Orchard Park contracting company who said he was approached by Lewiston Highway Superintendent Doug Janese Tuesday morning about a project on West Street in Sanborn.

The contractor told deputies that Janese told him if he attempted to do any work on West Street, Janese would remove his equipment. The contractor said he was concerned his property would be damaged or taken.

Deputies interviewed Janese who said he was upset with some of the work the contractor was doing in the town. He said no one from the town would remove any equipment.

Deputies noted that the contractor has a contract with the town to perform work on West Street. Janese was advised to contact the town board with any issues relating to the work.
