Break-ins at pistol range storage containers investigated
Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to a gun range on Killian Road Thursday to investigate two storage lockers that had been broken into, including one belonging to the U.S. Border Patrol.
The president of a pistol league was the first to notice the damage, reporting that someone cut the metal around a lock on a container the league leaves on the property. He said nothing appeared to have been taken from the container, though.
The man also noticed similar damage to a neighboring storage container belonging to Border Patrol. A border agent responded to the gun range, checked the locker and said nothing appeared to have been taken.
The containers were both locked up again.

DWI: Thomas J. Deville, Jr., 30, 4898 Beach Ridge Road, was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated. The Sheriff’s Office said a deputy saw Deville traveling north on Hinman Road making a left turn onto the Lockport Bypass. When Deville did, the deputy saw his vehicle was missing a back tire and was driving on its rim. The deputy pulled Deville over and reportedly determined he was drunk. Deville was taken to Niagara County Jail on $250 bail and will appear Tuesday in Lockport City Court. The deputy went back to the scene and determined Deville had hit a guard rail and a telephone pole, losing a tire in the process. The pole was not damaged.
• DRUGS: Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to Niagara County Community College on Friday morning after an employee of Tim Hortons found a small bag of suspected marijuana. The baggie was turned over to sheriff's deputies.
