Disturbing discovery investigated in Wilson

WILSON — A village resident reported finding a 55-gallon drum with hair sticking out of it while walking the creek bank near the 3900 block of Youngstown Road on Monday afternoon.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s office sent a staff member from its Mounted Patrol to preliminarily confirm the hair belongs to a horse, not a human, the incident report said.

Some hair was secured for testing, as was a small glass jar holding an unknown green fluid inside the drum. Investigation is continuing, the report said.
