Former Lockport man charged with rape

The New York State Police announced that Andrew K. Peyatt, 55, of Bridgeport, W.V. was arrested for first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree aggravated sexual abuse on Saturday.

State Police investigators received a complaint from a Niagara County resident detailing sexual abuse that began more than 10 years ago. The investigation revealed Peyatt, a former Lockport resident, subjected the victim to sexual abuse when he was visiting the area.

Peyatt was arraigned in the Town of Lockport and remanded to Niagara County Jail on $250,000 cash bond.
