Ransomville man charged with DWI after getting stuck in Lockport field

A Ransomville man was charged with DWI Monday morning after sheriff's deputies found him spinning his tires in a farmer's field.

Deputies were called to the field at 5305 Lower Mountain Road about 8:30 a.m. and found Michael L. Davis, 42, 4636 Dickersonville Road, about 900 feet east of Lockport-Cambria Townline Road. Davis was attempting to get his stuck car out of the field.

When deputies asked him to exit the car they said he appeared intoxicated and could not stand without assistance. He told deputies he thought he was on Route 429 and was making a right on to Ridge Road when he drove into the farmer's field. He was then taken into custody. His blood alcohol content was later measured at 0.17 percent on a breath test.

Davis was charged with DWI.
