BLOTTER: Police reports published Sept. 8

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested following a group gathering at 3:05 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Third Street. Arielle Giselman, 19, 7323 Frontier Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct after police located a large group of people reportedly arguing among themselves. After initially getting the group to disperse, the report said, the group reformed in a nearby spot and began arguing again. After a fourth attempt to disperse the crowd, officers threatened arrest, which scattered the group. Giselman reportedly remained, saying “(Expletive), I’m not going anywhere! That’s my best friend.” She was reportedly taken into custody and bailed herself out following the booking process at police headquarters.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a reported shoplifting incident at 5:30 p.m. Friday at a grocery store in the 1000 block of Portage Road. Rashaad Welch, 22, 1314 Ashland Ave., was charged with petit larceny after police responded to the report to find him face down in a store aisle and handcuffed. Store security told police Welch was witnessed putting individual Hormel Complete Meal packages in a backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying. After he was stopped, security said, Welch emptied the contents of his backpack on the ground and said, “Now you can’t do (expletive), what are you gonna do?” before attempting to leave. He reportedly bumped chests with security and attempted to push past to flee, but was taken down and restrained, according to the report. When asked, Welch said he was not injured in the altercation, according to police. Store security said Welch was involved in a prior incident at the store on Sept. 1, when a sub sandwich was taken without payment.
