BLOTTER: Police reports published Sept. 1

• ARRESTS: Two people were arrested after a traffic stop at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of 16th Street. Suzanne Cruz Perez, 36, 536 10th St., was charged with first-degree loitering and unlawful possession of marijuana, and Leonard Sornberger, 50, 224 Juanita Drive, Town of Niagara, was charged with first-degree loitering after police received a complaint of a pickup truck parked in the area of Cleveland Avenue and 16th Street. Upon arrival, the vehicle left the scene. Officer stopped it and proceeded to question both the driver, Sornberger, and passenger, Cruz Perez, according to reports. Sornberger reportedly told police he’d brought Cruz Perez to the city to purchase crack cocaine. Cruz Perez said she was there to buy marijuana. Officers found a bag of a green substance in Cruz Perez’s backpack, according to reports. Both were reportedly taken into custody and transported to headquarters without further incident.

 
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a narcotics investigation at 5:30 a.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Niagara Avenue. Devonte Sylvester, 20, 1818 Niagara Ave., was charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after officers entered the residence executing a search warrant, according to reports. Police allegedly seized two baggies filled with an off-white colored chunky substance, two digital scales, 10 bags of a tan powdery substance, a plastic bag with a tan crystal-like substance, $870 cash and a rifle from the residence. The materials tested positive for multiple illegal substances, including heroin in the tan powder and methamphetamine in the tan crystal substance. He was taken to headquarters without incident, according to police.
