Lundy's Lane motel destroyed in fire
A Niagara Falls inn was destroyed in a Friday fire, with no injuries reported.
Niagara Regional Police say at 5:40 p.m., emergency services were called to a fire at the Star Inn, at 8627 Lundy's Lane.
Upon arrival, the twenty-seven room motel was fully engulfed.
The Niagara Falls Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze. All occupants of the motel were evacuated and they were unharmed.
The motel was completely destroyed. The fire is not considered suspicious and the Falls fire department is continuing to investigate the scene.

Falls man charged with DWI
New York State Police on Grand Island arrested a Falls man on DWI and drug charges after spotting him driving on the side of the road Thursday night.
About 7:45 p.m., troopers stopped Michael Davis, 36, on Long Road after they saw his Pontiac Grand Am driving along the shoulder. Davis appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests.
When the trooper noticed Davis was chewing something when asked to step out of the car. The trooper retrieved a cigarette wrapper which had two glassine envelopes that contained heroin.
Davis was charged with DWI, DWAI drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as several traffic violations.
• INVESTIGATION: Police report investigating a noise complaint at 1:52 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Maple Avenue. Police said they arrived at the residence in question and found an open door. Inside, they said, about 25 students of a local college were playing loud music and drinking what appeared to be alcoholic beverages. Police said they asked the group to disperse, which was complied with by all parties without incident.
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a traffic stop at 1:45 p.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Willow Avenue. Dionte Dolson, 19, 2975 McKoon Ave., was charged with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, no or expired insurance and illegal tint of windows after police said the vehicle he was driving was stopped because of the tint. A check of his license revealed four suspensions, police said. Upon being placed under arrest, a baggy of green, vegetable material was found in his jacket pocket, police said. In addition, a scale and three cellular phones were visible on the passenger seat, according to officers. He was reportedly taken into custody without incident.
• ARRESTS: Lewiston police report a traffic stop at 10:55 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Upper Mountain Road led to the arrest of a 17-year-old man. Police said he was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operation and other vehicle and traffic violations. Police said the man tested positive for alcohol, displaying a 0.11 percent blood alcohol content. Two passengers in the vehicle, a 17-year-old man and a 16-year-old woman were also arrested for and charged with underage consumption of alcohol.
