Police search for supermarket bank robbery suspect

Niagara Gazette —

NORTH TONAWANDA — Police are continuing a search for a robbery suspect who entered a bank Saturday inside Tops Friendly Market and gave a teller a note demanding money.

Police Chief William Hall said officers arrived at Mid-City Plaza and were advised that the suspect had fled heading down Payne Avenue before he escaped.

"It was kind of a normal bank robbery if there is such a thing," Hall said. "Nobody got hurt and he left right away. But it's still traumatic for the people involved."

Police are asking resident to call North Tonawanda detectives at 692-4312 with any information that may assist in identifying the suspect.
