• NARCOTICS: Police are investigating the discovery of drugs in an apartment in the 3300 block of Ninth Street. A contractor working in the apartment found 1.1 ounces of crack cocaine in the attic of the residence on Wednesday. The contractor said he broke the paint seal on the entry to the attic, indicating the crack may have been there for a long period of time.

• FRAUD: Officers are looking into a “secret shopper” scam. A 24-year-old woman told police she answered a newspaper ad for a “secret shopper” and was contacted by a company that sent her a check for $4,700. The woman said she was instructed to deposit the check, wire $3,850 back to the company, then take $100 and go shopping at Walmart. The victim told officers her bank contacted her after she had transferred the money to tell her the check bounced.

• INCIDENT: Police are investigating the discovery of a handgun magazine containing live ammunition in the 500 block of 26th Street. A Falls man told officers he found the black and silver Glock magazine in his front yard on Sunday morning. The magazine contained 13 rounds including five full metal jacket bullets and eight hollow-point bullets.

• INCIDENT: Police are investigating a report of abuse made by the father of a 3-year-old who attends a school on the 1600 block of Lockport Road. The father said his son told him the during the school day on Friday a teacher pulled his ears and they hurt.

• VANDALISM: Officers are looking into an act of vandalism that occurred in the 9300 block of Cayuga Drive. A 29-year-old woman told police sometime between 11 p.m. Nov. 10 and 9:30 p.m. Nov. 11 someone poured a milk-like substance into the gas tank of her 2009 Dodge Journey. The substance caused mechanical problems.

Lewiston

• LARCENY: On Sunday, a Lockport woman contacted the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department and said her purse was stolen from her vehicle at a gas station on Saunders Settlement Road. A police report said the victim’s purse contained a wallet with her driver’s license and work identification as well as three prescriptions for Paxil, Adavain and an inhaler.
