NT teen charged with stabbing appears in court

NORTH TONAWANDA — A teenager charged with attempted murder appeared in city court on Thursday. 

Jordan Wankasky, 17, of Nash Road, was arrested by police on Saturday and accused of stabbing an acquaintance four times with a kitchen knife following an altercation believed to have stemmed from an early-morning game of beer pong. The incident took place on Hagen Street, police said, while a 12-inch knife with a 7-inch blade was recovered. 

Wankasky was arraigned in North Tonawanda City Court on Sunday in front of Judge William R. Lewis and charged with two felonies including second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault as well as a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree Wankasky is scheduled to appear in city court on Nov. 21.
