Niagara Gazette — SANBORN – The Niagara County Community College Foundation, Inc. this week announced the election of its 2013-2014 board of directors.
Kurt Schuler, controller of Niagara Sheets in North Tonawanda, has been named chairman of the foundation board. Schuler, a 1978 NCCC graduate, joined the board in 2008. He has served as past vice chairman and past chair of the finance committee.
Jerald I. Wolfgang has been elected as the board's vice chairman. Wolfgang, director of the WNY Regional Education Center for Economic Development, has been on the NCCC foundation board since 1993. Other officers elected include Treasurer David I. Karwick, senior vice president at Key Investment Services, Secretary F. Robert Sdao, NCCC board of trustee emeritus, members-at-large William Bevacqua, retired Sdao Furniture, David DiCamillo, DiCamillo Baking Co., Inc. and Gina I. Virtuoso, NCCC board of trustee appointee.
The board has elected the following new director: Michael J. Hooper, owner of Hooper Realty. The following directors have been re-elected to three-year terms: Ron Winkley, past board chairman, David Bonnevie, Dental Care Associates, LLC, Ann Briody Petock, Briody Health Care Facility, Vincent (Jimmy) Cancemi, Cancemi Furniture, Jack Kopczynski, Ascension Industries, Inc., James A. Mezhir, NCCC, Lester Robinson III, Northwoods Corp, and Gary Siddall, Delphi.
The NCCC Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to deserving students since its inception in 1987.
