Monster Mash Breakfast kicks off weekend of Halloween events around town

A new Halloween tradition in the city, Old Falls Street’s Monster Mash Breakfast, is back for its fourth year downtown. The Halloween-themed event for costumed children aged 12 and under will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. The breakfast, sponsored by the Culinary Institute Niagara Falls, will be held outside on Old Falls Street’s Middle Block under heated tents with activities held inside inside the Culinary Institute, on the same block.

This year’s activities include:

• A “Boo-tacular” breakfast buffet

• Costume contest

• Halloween-themed music provided by D&B Karaoke and DJ

• Age-appropriate haunted house

• Halloween arts and crafts

• Halloween-themed games

• Bounce house

• A visit by Walter C. Falls, the Old Falls Street, USA mascot

• Prizes and much more

Tickets are $6 for children aged 12 and under, $9 for adults, and $8 for seniors aged 65 and over. Advance tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by visiting the main office at The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls (located inside the entrance off Third Street)

Aquarium event set for Saturday night

The Aquarium of Niagara, 701 Whirlpool St., is hosting its Halloween event from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday night.

You might see a bat, a witch’s hat or big black cat arching its back, or even better, a shark with sharp teeth, an octopus with eight tentacles or maybe a starfish with five arms. Any child dressed as one of these sea creatures or any other marine animal will be admitted free. Adults and all other children will get a discounted admission of $5.

Youngsters, who “trick-or-treat” at the aquarium, will find lots to do and see. Each child will receive a small “treat bag” full of surprises. While enjoying the Halloween fun at the aquarium, they will also create a craft to take home.
