Niagara Police Athletic League festival/run returning next month

The Niagara Police Athletic League is looking for a few pals and participants for a big event returning next month.

The second annual Niagara Police Athletic League “Be Our PAL” Festival & Telethon will take place on Oct. 5 at Niagara Falls High School.

The festival will include a variety of events and activities throughout the day including the inaugural “Cops & Kids” Four Mile Run/Walk and One Mile Fun Run.

The 10 a.m. start will be televised live as a part of the OSC21 telethon. The theme of the race is “Four Miles – For Kids.”

Niagara PAL is a not-for-profit youth organization serving more than 18,000 youth annually across Western New York in 60 programs and sub-programs. Cost for the Four Mile is $20/ $10 student rate and $5 for the Fun Run. Runners can register on line at:

Other activities and events during the day include a police, fire and military vehicle display that include hands-on touch-a-truck/police car, in the east parking lot of the school.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department Smoke House and Niagara Falls Police Department Car Seat Safety Check will also be in the parking lot.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office Mounted Division will be present as well.

There will be a complete E-Waste and rechargeable battery re-cycling on the loading dock and a Chinese basket auction and vendors fair in the cafeteria. There will also be a variety of children’s activities including a bounce house and face painting.
