Meet 2013's Women of Distinction

Niagara Gazette — The Niagara Gazette is pleased to announce its fifth class of Women of Distinction.

The honorees have been chosen for their dedication in business, education, community and public service. Whether they're involved in restoring a struggling neighborhood in the Falls, helping make families stronger, volunteering at one of the area's facilities or other endeavors, these women are working to make the community a better place to live.

Like previous year's awards, the Gazette is highlighting the future stars of the Niagara Region as well by recognizing standout high school students from our four local school districts. As was the case last year, the Gazette is honoring two up-and-coming college students from our two local campuses, Niagara University and Niagara County Community College.

A Women of Distinction specialty magazine recognizing all of the honorees will publish and be inserted into May 20's Niagara Gazette.

The women will be honored at an awards ceremony set for 5:30 p.m. May 21 at the Como Restaurant, 2220 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls. All are welcome to attend and pre-sale tickets can be purchased at the Niagara Gazette for $20 per person from April 22 through May 17.

For tickets or more information, contact Sandy Felicetti at 282-2311, ext. 2223.

Tattoos can be a touchy subject. Of course, people have heard they shouldn’t judge a book by its cover; still, people continue to report being denied jobs and being judged harshly for proudly displaying their ink.
