Niagara Gazette — RANSOMVILLE — The traditional Lighting of the Wreaths will be held for several sites in the community this weekend.

The event opens with the "Family Movie Night," from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the W.H. Stevenson Elementary School, Ransomville Road. A spokesperson said parents must accompany children.

On Sunday, a crafts show is slated from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post. The Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. hall will host several activities from 12:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The program will include a visit by Santa Claus, the Care & Share Food Pantry, a basket raffle and the Hot Country Line Dancers, 1 to 1:45 p.m. A magic show is scheduled for 3:15 to 3:45 p.m., and the Wilson High School Chorale Group, directed by Claudia Andres, will perform at 4 p.m.

The closing ceremonies will feature the lighting of a large wreath at 4:30 p.m. Carriage rides and children's activities also are planned.
