Niagara Gazette — A fundraiser to help a mother afford travel to a hospital in Cincinnati to visit her terminally ill daughter is being held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Tuscarora Nation House, 5226 Walmore Road in Lewiston.
The event is being held for Donella Miljour Nocera, 7, who is battling stage 4 glioblastoma, a malignant and aggressive brain tumor. She is currently undergoing experimental treatments in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Friends and family are trying to raise funds for traveling expenses so members of the girl’s family, especially her mom, Lisa Miljour, can visit her in Cincinnati.
A relative of the family said the little girl, who is with her father, has already been through radiation and surgery.
“I think they exhausted radiation and chemo, but they’re trying experimental drugs and that’s why she’s staying in Cincinnati where they can observe her,” said Paige Carozzolo, a cousin of Donella’s mom.
“We’re trying to make Donella happy and do as much as we can for her from Niagara Falls,” Carozzolo said.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $20 and include a spaghetti dinner and a sheet of tickets for the raffles and baskets auctions.
There will be a basket auction and prizes including a custom handmade wooden lacrosse stick, jet boat tickets, and giftcards from Macy’s, Tops, the Seneca Niagara Casino, and area salons and spas.
