Niagara Gazette — There will be a corvette summer celebration on Saturday along Old Falls Street in downtown Niagara Falls.
The Corvette Club of Buffalo and the Sunburst Corvette Club of Crystal Lake, Ill. will meet for a daylong "cruise-in" event featuring 50 classic and new corvettes.
The event will also feature food and beverage vending as well as live music by Kurt and the Loders, a local 1990s rock cover band, which takes the stage from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Buffalo legend Lance Diamond will follow with a performance from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
“We look forward to hosting an array of Corvettes on Old Falls Street,” said Global Spectrum’s Dan Mezhir, Old Falls Street’s event manager, who has been planning this event with the Corvette Club of Buffalo and its Mid-Western counterpart for several months. “This display of quintessential American vehicles coupled with great live music will be a must-see event for residents and visitors alike.”
This weekend's event serves as the first of two Corvette Club cruise-ins to be held on Old Falls Street this summer. The next one will be held Aug. 16, and will feature live music by The Boys of Summer. That concert is also free and open to the public.
During the Aug. 16 cruise-in, the Corvette Club of Buffalo will celebrate its 10th Annual Caravan while welcoming anyone with a classic or custom vehicle to join them on Old Falls Street, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. All makes and models of vehicles will be welcome. Pre-registered vehicles will receive preferred parking on Old Falls Street. The price is $5 to register a vehicle.
