Niagara Gazette — The Niagara Falls Branch of YMCA Buffalo Niagara has begun their fundraising effort for the 2013 Strong Kids Campaign under the leadership of Campaign co-chairs Donald E. Burns and Lori Pellow.
The Niagara Falls Family YMCA, located at 1317 Portage Road, is an agency that has committed to serving downtown Niagara Falls for more than 108 years. For generations, the Y has been helping to shape the lives of people of all ages in Spirit, Mind, and Body by offering a wide array of services including, preschool, child care, camping, youth sports, swimming lessons, teen leadership development programs, fitness and recreation programs for adults, children, teens, seniors, and family support programs.
To ensure that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay, we provide financial assistance to those unable to afford the full cost of the Y’s programs and services. Last year, the Niagara Falls branch raised over $46,000 during the Strong Kids Campaign and awarded over $127,000.
As our economy continues to struggle, the need for financial assistance continues to grow, which is why the branch is asking for the public’s support. When you donate to the campaign, you will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood, as 100 percent of every dollar raised stays with the branch to support the residents of Niagara Falls.
Your help will allow the fulfillment of the Y’s mission and grow and expand in the future. It’s through the generosity of our community that we are able to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected, and secure.
