MILESTONE: Not only is Joe Ventrilla Sr. alive and kicking, he's whooping it up at his 100th birthday party, right, joined by his son's Joe Jr., left, and James J., in the middle. Ventrilla was born Oct. 24, 1913 in Niagara Falls. He attended the first class at Trott Vocational High School in 1929. He started his working career at NIACET in 1933 and then went to work at Vanadium Corp. where he started as a crane operator. He has lived at the Estelle apartments for the past 28 years and still lives alone, cooking himself three meals a day and driving himself where he needs to go. He is the father of two and has five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Family and friends from near and far gathered Friday night in the Seneca Casino & Hotel Deer Room to celebrate his birthday.
