Neil Young “Living With War”
You know there’s a problem when a Canadian-born Republican who resides in United States releases an album focused on bashing a Republican president.
Neil Young’s “Living With War” is filled with blatant anti-Bush anthems that address the war in Iraq, the past two elections and the Patriot Act.
Without notifying his record label, Young recorded “Living with War” over two weeks in April. The spontaneity of the album creates a raw sound as well as simple, pointed lyrics.
In “Lookin’ For A Leader,” Young searches for a leader to “reunite the red, white and blue” and “clean up the corruption and make the country strong.”
The most direct songs is obviously “Let’s Impeach the President,” which accuses Bush of lying, spying and using his religion to hijack the election.
I don’t care if you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative: Neil Young is Neil Young, and any record he puts out, no matter what the content may be focused on, promises to be well worth the cost.
